Abstract

?The genus Lycogalopsis?. This interesting genus of gasteromycetes has been sparsely collected from various localities in the tropics of both hemispheres; in the New World, in Martinique and in Puerto Rico. He has been placed in at least four different families. From the study of several collections from Panama, the author considers the American forms as identical with L. Solmsii E. Fischer, originally described for Java, and considers the genus as included in the Lycoperdaceae.

George Willard Martin (1886 – 1971) fue un micólogo estadounidense. Recibió su doctorado en la Universidad de Chicago en 1922. Martin fue el director del Department of Botany de la Universidad de Iowa entre 1953 a 1955. Más tarde continuó como profesor emérito y siguió siendo un activo investigador incluso pasados los 80 años de edad.
