Abstract

?A new species of Opuntia?. The authors refute Spegazzini's opinion of O. argentina, which the majority of authors subscribed to; they restore Schumann's synonymy, according to which O. brasiliensis (Willd.) Haw. and O. argentina Gris. are identical and describe O. argentina Speg. non gris. under the name O. schulzii Castell. et Lelong as a new species. They also give detailed descriptions and color illustrations of this species and of O. brasiliensis.
