Abstract

The period of cambial activity of Myrcianthes callicoma McVaugh was studied during two annual consecutive cycles. This study was worked out in four living trees in the locality of Los Sosa, province of Tucumán (Argentina). A description of the wood anatomy is given. The relations of the period of cambial activity with phenology and climatic factors have been established. The period of cambial activity of Myrcianthes callicoma begins in September-October and finishes in April-May. The apperance of one growth ring a year was observed.
