Contribution to knowledge of Hedychium coronarium Koen

Abstract

The Hedychium coronarium Koen. is a very interesting plant which has large application in the Brazilian industry of paper and also in the preparation of starch (araruta) used for fine cookings. This paper contains essentially a contribuition to the knowledge of the anatomy the rhizome and of the structure of the starch.
