Storied ligneous structure recorded for the first time in Argentine Leguminosae

The occurrence of storied structure is reported in 14 genera of Leguminosae, in which this feature has not been previously reported. These genera are: Mimosa (the 6-5 th. genus of Mimosoideae-Leguminosae recorded as possessing this structure), Calpurnia, Anarthrophyllum, Spartium, Ulex; Sarathamnus, Medicago, Psoralea, Colutea, Caragana, Glycyrrhizo, Coronilla, Adesmia, and Galactia, belonging to the Papilionatae. 91 genera of this sub-family have already been recorded as possessing storied structure. For each genus investigated the species studied are mentioned and the anatohncal characteristics of the secondary wood are described.
