Abstract

In the present synopsis, some 17 species of the genus Buddleja are studied; they are those known up to the present in the Argentine flora. A key is given to determine the species, as well as a description of the same, their distribution according to the proceedence of the specimens consulted, and a picture with drawings illustrative of several of the species treated.

Lyman Bradford Smith, Gray Herbarium, Harvard University

Lyman Bradford Smith (1904-1997) fue un botánico estadounidense.

Durante los años de 1920s estudió biología en la Harvard University. Entre 1928 y 1929 trabajó por primera vez en Brasil. También en su futuro trabajo de por vida se concentró en la taxonomía de las angiospermas de Sudamérica, en particular Bromeliaceae. Para la "North American Flora", de Nathaniel Lord Britton trató las "Bromeliaceae" del tomo 19 Nº 2 (1938).
