The anatomic study of the wood of Castela coccinea Griseb., Alvaradoa amorphoides Liebm., and Picraena palo-amargo (Speg.) Speg., permit to establish the conclusion that they have the type of structure, which corresponds them according its systematic position in that family. Castela coccinea Griseb. has liberiform fibres, wide radius, abundant parenchyma, disposed in successive level planes in the tangential section, vessels with alternate, small puntuactions. Picraena palo-amargo (Speg.) Speg. has fibertracheids arranged in successive level planes, heterogeneous radius. Alvaradoa amorphoides Lieb., on the contrary, has fibertracheids, but its radius are narrow, acroheterogeneous.
