Abstract

In this index of the dendrological flora of Argentina, the author lists the native trees and shrubs of the country and expands his work published in 1935 with information on the physical properties and industrial uses of the country's wood, but in the mention of those shrubs that limit these studies to interesting species. In this publication he provides new data on the mass and distribution of trees and shrubs and lists new families (after Engler-Diels, Syll. Pfizfam., 1936), such as Podocarpaceae, Araucariaceae, Cupressaceae, Ephedraceae, Achatocarpaceae and Desfontaineaceae.

The experimental values published in this work refer to the specific weight, hardness, compressive strength and calorific value of wood, as well as the calorific value of wood gas, wood consumption per HP hour during gasification, tar content, combustion temperatures reached in the boiler, fuel consumption per HP hour and evaporation rates achieved with the test boiler.
