Miguel Lillo (1862-1931)

Miguel Lillo, biography, profileAbstract
The author, at the request of the Director of these Anales, studies the personality of the learned naturalist Michel Lillo, who died in Tucumán on May 4, 1931; it was also there that he was born and where he spent his entire laborious existence. Lillo was a self-educator, and even an eloquent example of what a vocation supported by the will can do. He was made an honorary doctorate by the University of La Plata (R.A.). Specialized in botany, he left several important works, as well as a large herbarium considered to be one of the most worked in South America, bringing together the vegetation of the Argentine north almost entirely, In addition, his library and his collection of bird skins are also of great value.
