Abstract

A taxonomical study of two species of Alternaria Nees ex Fries which were found in tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum L. var. Burley) is carried out. These tobacco cultures are considered the most economically important ones which are being damaged by these highly pathogen species. Two species, A. alternata and A. longipes, have been detected in Tucuman. They were also described and illustrated.
