Fenotypical differences between genetically similar populations of Stachys petiolosa Briq.

Abstract

In samples of Stachys petiolosa Briq. from the mountain regions of the province of Tucumán following aspects have been studied: a) caryological observations; b) studies on the development of the species at low altitudes, based on cultivated individuals, grown from seeds and clones collected on higher planes.

The cultivated plants were found to be identical with those which grow spontaneously on the plains at low altitudes.
