Abstract

Cyptotrama macrobasidium Sing. nov. gen., nov. spec. is described, notable for its marasmyoid appearance and its affinities with Marasmius, Gloiocephala, and neighboring genera, but differing from all by the bilateral structure of the hymenophoretic weft. Despite this last anatomical character, it does not belong to the families characterized mainly by its bilateral pattern but, like Marasmius and Gloiocephala, to the Tricholomatacea family.
