The author has studied a number of South and Central American phalloid (Basidiomycetes, Gastromycetes, Phallales), not especially from the regions ?best known until now? of the Atlantic Coast but rather from some countries where phalloids had not been studied critically before, such as Bolivia and parts of Northern Argentina. Redescriptions and illustrations are given of the following interesting species: Mutinus bambusinus, M. sp., Floccomutinus sp., Phallus glutinolens, Staheliomyces cinctus, Dictyophora indusiata and var. rosea, Itajahya galericulata, Simblum sphaerocephalum, Clathrus crispus, and var. americanus, Lysurus gardnert, Pseudocolus javanicus, Protophallus jamaicensis.
