Abstract

Argentine species of genus Opistocysta (Oligochaeta, Opistocystidae)?. The family Opistocystidae Cernosvitov, 1936, actually overall five species, according to the revision done by Harman (1969), which comprise in their distribution North America (United States), South America (Paraguay, Argentina, Brazil and Uruguay) and Africa (Sudan).

This paper deals with the Argentine species of this family, according to recent findings made by the author in several inland aquatic habitats of Northeastern Argentina, recording O. corderoi for the first time in the country, and widening the distribution of O. funiculus.
