Abstract

Contribution to the knowledge of the Leptotyphlopidae of Argentina. II: New data on Leptotyphlops australis Freiberg and Orejas Miranda, 1968?. This note is part of a series of papers dedicated to studying different aspects of the species of the genus Leptotyphlops in Argentina. A study on the osteology and characters of hemipenes in Leptotyphlops weyrauchi and L. albipuncta was previously published (Fabrezi et al., 1985). In this work we will analyze L. australis Freiberg and Orejas Miranda, originally described based on material from Valcheta, Río Negro province, and later Orejas Miranda and Achával (1969) characterized their hemipenes using material from Lihuel Calel, La Pampa province.
