Abstract

Aptopus Eschscholtz 1829 is one of eleven genera of the subfamily Cardiophorinae. It is an American genus with records in the United States of America, Mexico, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Ecuador, Bolivia, Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay and Argentina. Based on the obtained material, three new species were identified. These are described herein. Two of them belong to the group of species that present marginal carinae on the pronotum and the third presents carinae on the episternum.
