Contribution to the knowledge of the avifauna of the Gran Chaco (Province Gran Chaco, Tarija, Bolivia)

Abstract

Here we report part of the results of biodiversity studies conducted by BG Bolivia Corporation, in their exploration and exploitation areas, located in the Gran Chaco province of Tarija, Bolivia. New information extends the distribution range of the species described and contributes to a better understanding of the birds of the Gran Chaco. Two species represent the first depar tmental records for Tarija (Sarkidiornis melanotos, Patagioenas speciosa) and one species (Eudromia formosa) is considered the first official record for Bolivia.
