The salinization of water bodies is a growing worldwide issue, exacerbated by the consequences of the increase in desert areas and the effects of climate change. Primary salinization is due to natural effects (eg: substrate or climate) and secondary salinization is the alteration of the salt cycle produced by anthropic activities. Various species, belonging to communities of benthic macroinvertebrates, show tolerance to high levels of salinity and manage to dominate the ecosystems in which they inhabit. We present in this work three taxa tolerant to the salinity of rivers in the province of Tucumán.
