The status of knowledge prior to this contribution of the subgenus Neophyllaphis (Aphididae, Neophyllaphidinae) in South America, where it is allochthonous, is briefly resented. From specimens collected in recent years, Neophyllaphis podocarpi is recorded for the first time in Brazil and Colombia, and Neophyllaphis varicolor is recorded for the first time in South America, in Argentina, province of Misiones. The features that differentiate N. podocarpi from closely related species are presented, as well as briefly their known distribution. The morphological and bionomic intraspecific variabilities of N. varicolor are discussed, and its known distribution is presented. The key for the identification of aphids that live on plants of the genus Podocarpus provided in Aphids on World Plants is restructured.
