Abstract

This study describes the first data on reproductive aspects of Nyctidromus albicollis in Bolivia by monitoring a nesting site with camera traps. The monitoring period between incubation and the abandonment of the laying site by the fledglings lasted 30 days and 236.89 h of recording were recorded with camera traps. The male was observed incubating 65.3% of the time, with a proportion of 75% during the day. The female dedicated 34.7% to incubation and did so mainly at night. The chicks hatched asynchronously on 08/28/2022 with differences between one and the other of 11 h, after 21 days one of the fledglings closely followed by one of the parents left the nest with fully developed plumage, except for the length of tail feathers. The second squab remained alone for more than 12 h and the camera trap images reveal that it was preyed upon by a green snake of the genus Philodryas.
