Speciation in toads (Bufo genus)

Abstract

The author shows that the evolution of species follows very different paths according the attributes which undergo the full impact of natural selection. The thesis is illustrated by examples in, the evolution of the toads (genus Bufo). The author and his assistants have especially studied the mating calls and the degree of genetic compatibility in interspecific crosses.
