Indicadores de conocimiento sobre biodiversidad para el diagnóstico de la colección de microhimenópteros del Museo de La Plata, Argentina III. Signiphoridae (Hymoneptera: Chalcidoidea)

Abstract

“Biodiversity indicators for diagnosis microhymenopterans collection of Museo de La Plata, Argentina (Hymenoptera: Signiphoridae)”. Biodiversity knowledge indicators of biological collections serve to know the condition of collections. Analysis of the use of the information in databases helps articulate, improve and integrate such information with that of species inventories in Argentina, and further register their contribution to biodiversity, i.e. , application of biological indicators – taxonomic and geographic representativeness – to the Signiphoridae collection deposited at the La Plata Museum Division of Entomology. The collec- tion is formed by 129 specimens from 19 species, assigned to three genera. The rate of parasitoid-host associations was 47%; for the first time the Diptera genus-host and family record is reported. Specific representativeness of category A was low compared with B; tax- onomic identification was only 21.74%; data completeness was 33.33% for scientific names, 15.76% for dates, and 32.30% for provinces/states. In Argentina, sampling intensity was 32.14%, species sampling intensity was 19.05%, and geographic representativeness per province was 39.14%. Specimens came from nine Argentinian provinces and nine American countries from the Nearctic, Neotropical and Andean regions. Data record started in 1910. The list of taxa in the collection, the plant and animal hosts associated according to the label of each specimen as well as maps with biogeographical distributions are presented.
