Abstract

?Fungal spores from the Anta Formation (Orán Group), Middle Miocene, Salta Province, Argentina. More than 200 fungal palynomorphs were recoverd from sediments of the Anta Formation, Middle Miocene of Salta Province. Argentina, of which 86,5% are Amerosporae, 11,2% are Didymosporae and 2,2% are Phragmos-
porae. Some forms are comparable to living genera and they can be used to deduce environmental conditions and climate; other spores belong to grassland fungi, some are related with dung of megaherbivore animals, and others produce wood degradation.
