Abstract

?Basic metavolcanics outcrop in the crystalline basement of the Cumbres Calchaquíes, Tucumán Province, Argentine?. The crystalline basement rocks of the Cumbres Calchaquíes in the southernmost Cordillera Oriental are mainly comprised of muscovite schist, occur basic metavolcanic on the western slopes of the range with within plate affinities, which have been never described before in detail. Based on the overall stratigraphic and structural context, these rocks are of late Proterozoic age. In context with the regional geologic setting and the structural position, geochemical data of these rocks clearly indentifity them as volcanics sinsedimentary that
formed in within plate setting.
