Abstract

?The comparative study of planar structures with photolineaments and geomorphological features in the Sierra de Narváez, Provinces of Tucumán and Catamarca, Argentina?. In this comparative study of planar structures in the field with photolineaments and geomorphological features structural control in the geomorphological evolution of the Aconquija ranges has been observed. Some of the geomorphological structurally controlled features are fault deflected channels: fault bounded positive blocks which show the main attitude of strata. The tectonic activity is expressed in reverse faults with strike-slip components which induced sinistral block rotation in the metamorphic basement and in the sedimentary Tertiary cover. These mechanisms can be associated with transversal structures active during the Andean orogeny (Mon, 1979).
