Abstract

“ Mining Geology of Complejo Minero Fabril San Rafael with emphasis in the characterization of marginal ore stockpiles ”. Complejo Minero Fabril San Rafael (CMFSR) is located in the province of Mendoza, in the Uranium District Sierra Pintada, and within mor- phostructural unit Bloque de San Rafael. In the same area you can find the Doctor Baulíes – Los Reyunos uranium deposit volca- noclastic type where the main concentrations are contained in the Los Reyunos Formation which is of lower permian age. The study of two stockpiles (Sector XI – Sector XIV) has been given priority to determine the aims of the mineral resource stockpiles which are considered as uranium mineral resourc- es for a possible future treatment. The results for Sector XI were: Volume 14.444,7 m 3 , average scintilométrica grade of 172 g/ t de U and average chemistry grade 210 g/t of U. Sector XIV: Volume 12.845,4 m 3 , average scintilométrica grade 229 g/t of U and average chemistry grade 383 g/t of U.
