Abstract

Meaning of the isotopic data and age in the Petrography of the Tres Cerros alkaline metavulcanite, Guasayán department, Santiago del Estero province (Argentina)?. The authors have previously made a petrographic and chemical description of an alkaline rock in the village of Tres Cerros, in the proximity of the Sierra de Guasayán, provincia de Santiago del Estero (Argentina), based on minimal geological data. This rock, characterized by the conspicuous presence of cancrinite, was referred to as metaphonolite or metaphonolitic trachite, with a result of it being part of the metamorphic-granitic complex. The K-Ar data have presented are in agreement with the previous petrological interpretation.
