Abstract

Geological guidelines of the Eastern Basin of La Rioja between the Sierras de Velasco and the Sierra Brava (Argentina)?. For several years the great sedimentary basin between the Velasco and La Sierra Brava has aroused considerable interest from the hydrogeological point of view, due to its geographical location in the center of the provincial territory and its future development, which makes it one of the most important in La Rioja. With the information obtained by gravimetric and seismic refraction works, in addition to a series of drilling for the exploitation of underground water, it has been possible to analyze the sedimentary development of the basin in the subsoil. Based on the study of the most recent aerial and satellite photographs and field observations, some geological-geomorphological environments have been delimited, which we consider will serve as the basis for detailed studies of each of them, in order to achieve greater use of water resources.
