Abstract

This paper presents the results of a research strategy used to identify the probable raw materials used in the manufacture of archaeological ceramics. For this study, a series of analysis to terrigenous material s collected at various locations in the valley of Choromoro (Dept. Trancas) were made. The study of raw materials led to the peculiarities and variability of some of the deposits in the region and enabled the construction of a set of reference from which comparisons were made with ceramics recovered in the archaeological site Hachado Mortar (Rearte South, Dept. Trancas). The results of these analyses suggest that the late societies exploited materials of the region for the manufacture of ceramics.
