The ICFS will take place late winter (but with sunny days, gentle winds, 15º to 25ºC), in the San Miguel de Tucumán, Argentina.
San Miguel de Tucumán is a capital of province of 700,000 inhabitants, situated in the northwest of Argentina. Looking at the west and for more than 100 km, it is possible to see ranges about 5,000 m high. Three 9thICFS excursions cross along these ranges. San Miguel de Tucumán has museums, theaters, symphonic orchestra, and the downtown area is very active, plenty of restaurants, pubs and “cafes”, which are open early in the morning; and some of them, seem never to be closed. Moreover, it is possible to visit, to look and to listen the show of light and sound in the Independence House, which is 192 years and where was claimed the Independence for first time.
The city has three major universities: National University of Tucumán (host), National Technology University, and University of the North: Santo Tomás de Aquino; there are more than 90,000 students among them.
The ICFS venue is a five star hotel in front of the Park “9 de Julio” (a recreation area of 4 km2). The venue is 5 blocks from the bus station, 6 blocks to the commercial downtown and 15 minutes to the Benjamín Matienzo airport. Accommodation in comfortable hotels will be reserved for participants and accompanying persons. A map with restaurants and pubs will be prepared for the participants.
